A week of snow and now it is like autumn again. Let's hope there will be no severe frost when there is no snow, the poor plants are already suffering from the wet winter. But oh boy, am I glad we had the energy to slave away with the gravel last summer, this wet and cold weather is easier to stand when there is no mud on the yard!

The thing is
The thing is to have lots of things...for years I was a minimalist and now I am definitely not, or what do you think?

Don't be a wall flower
Unlike to carpets, we are spolied for choice when it comes to wallpaper. All (Swedish) wallpaper companies have released 1800's collections in this year. Our favourite for Vårkulla's living room is at the moment Sandberg's (link...) Edvin black. I might like a paper with flowers and/or birds with exotic colours but as it would be rather hard to convince my husband to agree we just might get on with the one we already agree on. In any case I want every room in Vårkulla to be different. At the moment the kitchen is gray, the hall green, bedroom golden brown and the bathroom muddy brown (or grey). The living room will either be very dark (as in Edvin black) or then very colourful.

Pretty pretty
Yes, it's really cold and miserable right now and I can't wait till it's summer. But the garden still manages to look rather pretty in the sunshine.

Let it snow
My husband is outside shovelling snow to cover the stones of the foundation to save electricity. So, never mind if you hate snow or not, it is a good thing to have some when it is minus 20 degrees!

Bohemian rhapsody
What to do when the small cabinets are too low for your husband's loudspeakers and at the same time you have too many books? Answer: put a stack of books on the cabinets and voilá, two problems solved! A bit bohemian but works for us.

Too easy
I just complained that I don't have a desk in Vårkulla anymore. But all I needed to do was open up the tabletop of the old cabinet standing in the corner and all was well again.
