Retro heaven

I love 60's teak stuff. This lamp was without a shade but we found a perfect fit from Hemtex. Even my husband liked the pink colour as it goes very well with the brown and bronze.

Is it time already?

You'll always have a minute to spare if you just choose the right clock to check the time on.

Something new for a change

There were new beers by a local brewery in the supermarket and of course we had to buy some- lager for me and stout for my husband.

Just what I need

It is a hot day for heavy gardening. If it were the 60's I could take a sip of Sinalco and get on with shoveling refreshed.

Hot damn?

We are notorious for making things difficult. Case in point, we have been looking for a gas grill for Vårkulla for ages but nothing pleased our eye. Then, Eva Solo saved us with their fireglobe grill.

At long last

It is spring, almost summer, after a long cold April. The garden is waking up and there is something new to see every day.

Coldest spring ever

This morning I started to put the new summer flowers in pots. As I started to take them out of the bags, I noticed that almost all flowers had frozen during the night. It seemed that the foliage was mostly still ok, so I potted the plants anyway. Now I hope they have energy to flower again.

The games you play

Every real card player needs (60's) drink glasses and an ashtray with playing card motives.

All that is left

My godmother had a restaurant Chez Marius in Mikonkatu, Helsinki from the 50´s to around the 90's. She gave a couple of Arabia ashtrays with her restaurant's logos to my parents as a present and now I have them. As my parents dind't use these at all, they are as good as new. I don't collect ashtrays but I love these two. The matchbox we happened to find in a flea market.

Hit the nail on the head

It is funny how old things are beautiful even if they are meant for everyday use. My father wasn't much of a carpenter, so this nail box is almost intact - and as it is from my father's father originally, I guess the not-quite-handy-with-the-hammer runs in the family. I must say, I have nothing to brag about myself. I am fifty years old and just nailed my first nail ever this winter..
