Cheaper than Ikea

We have been trying to find night stands for the bedroom at home for ages. Our previous ones were over 15 year old covered baskets that were starting to look a bit sad. About a week ago we found perfect tables and they cost only18 euros each. Quite a find!

Just to make sure

If you have problems waking up, just get a couple of alarm clocks and problem is solved! These three are USA made General Electrics clocks from the 60's.

Pillow talk

I love hares as pillow decorations but don't much love them in the garden (we had three hares running around a week ago and I fear for my newly planted trees and shrubs).

Too easy

I just complained that I don't have a desk in Vårkulla anymore. But all I needed to do was open up the tabletop of the old cabinet standing in the corner and all was well again.

Working girl

We bought a small sofa for watching TV.  First we put the sofa in front of the TV - no good, the whole room looked small and stuffed. Then I realized that we have to get rid of my desk and put the sofa beside the window. Now all is well except I don't have a desk anymore...

The sofa looked a bit boring so I added a white woolen blanket my mother has knitted...it wasn't quite   what was needed so I added a colorful fringe and a couple of pillows to make the sofa more inviting. Our laundry basket with an old tablecloth makes do as a side table. The room needs a bit of tuning still but it looks good enough for a while.

Blanket of snow

No fear of white Christmas this year as it is +10 Celsius now and it seems that the warm weather will hold till after Christmas. Cold or not, it is never too warm to have lovely woolen blankets on chairs and sofas.

No empty shelves here

We now have a large chest of drawers in the bedroom so there is lots of room to display globes, jugs and other stuff there, too.

Who wants to sit

What do you have chairs for? To store books, of course.

Room for a new collection

We have a "new" cabinet. At the moment the cabinet is empty, but not for long, I promise.

I wish it were for real

It would be lovely to have a really big bedroom! The camera lens makes believe, in reality the room is much smaller.

Simply the best

This lamp is as simple as it gets. And even though it is really modern, it is a very good fit for the fortie's fan and the old wood cabinet.

The shortest winter ever!

If this is all of the snow for this winter, I am happy. The view from our bedroom window is from Saturday, today there is no snow left, great!

A rabbit in a right place

The only place to enjoy rabbits is on the wall!

The darker the better

The dark frame of this painting makes the clours to pop out. In kitchen I have another dark frame, its almost black and the turqoise painting looks really good. The more usual golden frames don't have this effect.

Antiques are creeping in

The old stuff has found its way to our home to wait for a better place at Vårkulla. The radio doesn't work but looks good. I could call it a project, but won't, because I guess it will never be repaired. The cabinet is from Pentik (link) and is (of course) full of books. The boring parquet is not the best possible background for beautiful old wood but as we are only renting, we just have to make do.

Not so modern

Even though everything except the wall paper is new in this picture, the room doesn't look too modern.

From every angle

Now that the red blanket is at last finished, it has to be photographed and admired from every angle.

The warmth of the candles

It would be nice if we could have real fire in the fireplaces but they don't work well enough. Well, the candles look nice even though they don't give much warmth.

Ball of fire

The old chrystal globe looks great when the light is on, almost as it were on fire.

Not too cute

Lene Bjerre sells these not-too-cute hare pillows. By the way, if you happen to watch the movie "Lone Ranger"' please take note of the note-so-cute rabbits!
