I love the 50's, the design of everyday objects was great and if something was specifically designed, the design was amazing.
We bought a wall/ceiling/table clock that used to adorn Kuparitalo's walls in Helsinki. Kuparitalo (Copper house) was designed by architects Blomstedt & Lampén in 1958 for Outokumpu Oy.
Someone has changed the clockworks from one needing a central clock to an ordinary electric device - good for us as now the clock works even at home. The clock has identical working clocks on both sides and it doesn't matter if you hang the thing upside down, it still shows the right time.
The clocks don't get any better than this!
